We offer many clinics and learning opportunities for all of our Oasis clients. Hilary and Brittany offer a horsemanship and biomechanics clinic 2 times a year at the barn. Ryan Hathaway offers clinics every few months that focus on ground work and roping. We love to collaborate with outside clinicians so we can continue to learn. Along with BTH equestrians, we try and have a well rounded atmosphere where people and horses of all disciplines can flourish. Come join us or take a tour of our facility.
Oasis Equine Clinics
Oasis Equine is proud to offer clinics at your facility and ours. We strive to make our clinics open to all levels of horse and rider, as well as comprehensive.
1 Day clinics ($2500) offer: basic groundwork skills that focus on safety and proper body movements, biomechanics, discussion on tack and halter fit and the reasons behind these approaches. We apply horse anatomy in a visual and hands-on experience to help guide the horse enthusiast about how the body and brain function.
The clinic break down is as follows:
10 am meet and greet, discussion and overview
10:30-12pm groundwork together with our horses. Learning how to do basic groundwork techniques and applying pressure and release correctly.
12-12:30 lunch, water break for horse and rider
12:30-2pm anatomy drawing and visual concepts. Hands on learning with our horses from the ground. Understand body dynamics and how each horse is an individual.
2pm-2:30pm Q and A and a group picture wrap up
2 Day clinics ($4000) offer a second full day to practice day 1 skills and to hone in on new techniques. Working on understanding how groundwork applies to ridden work. We learn bodywork and stretching techniques to do with our horses before and after riding. There is also an emphasis of understanding comfort with our tack (saddle fit, bridle fit, jaw anatomy)
Clinic break down is as follow for day 2:
10am meet and greet, discussion and overview
10:30-12pm stretching, bodywork and correct saddle fit. Understanding my hands on learning with each horse.
12-12:30 pm lunch and water break
12:30-2pm grooming and tacking (best practices for a happy horse), mounting safely and why it matters. Correlating groundwork from day 1 into the ridden work.
