Owner and Trainer at BTH Equestrians. Professional trainer for 18 years with an emphasis on a horsemanship stemming from proper groundwork through ridden work and competing on the Hunter Jumper circuit on the West Coast. Blending training technique and traditional training models with new science backed information about horse, welfare, horse brain development and proper care of horses' physical and emotional centers.
No horse left behind is a theory dear to Brittany. She beleives every horse can have a purpose and when given the proper tools. can thrive. She allows some pretty amazing clinicians at the barn as well. This helps encourage our team and keeps us in top form when trying to understand horses who struggle.
HILARY VAN TATENHOVE, Practitioner/owner
Has owned and developed Centered Equine Therapies for 8 years. She specializes in Cranio Sacral Therapy, muscular therapy and equine emotional/physical balancing. She has a hands-on, non-invasive approach to helping horses reach optimal performance and health. Hilary has the belief that horses have a full spectrum of emotion and responses and that we need to match this need. Hilary is focused on keeping our horses “just being horses” and lowering the temperature for these hard working show horses. Catching issues before they become bigger issues.
There is so much gain in knowing the full spectrum of integrative works. From Veterinarian practices, to bodywork to animal communication. To have a true, deep approach in understanding the multitude of layers that these horses have- one must continue to learn, teach and and apply methods often.
An equine veterinarian and owner of Select Equine Sports Medicine, formerly Granite Bay Equine, which she acquired from Dr. Jennifer Galuppo last year. She is a California native who grew up competing in Hunter Jumpers and eventing, where she began fostering her appreciation for the performance horse. She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University. Following graduation she completed a rotating internship at Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery (ESMS) in Weatherford, Texas, where she gained extensive experience in sports medicine and surgery. Dr. Miller then took a job at Oklahoma Equine Hospital, where she worked on the NRCHA and NRHA showcircuits. She has a deep appreciation for both the western and English disciplines and her practice centers on performance horse care with an integrative, evidence-based approach.

Hayley is a 2009 graduate of PCHS farrier school. Specializing in sporthorses and their performance she ranges in applications from traditional steel shoeing to today's modern advances in farriery including glue on composites. She's an avid rider both in jumping and team roping. Hayley professionally thrives collaborating with training staff and their veterinarian teams to provide optimum care and an individualized approach in shoeing applications. That includes horses in rehabilitation, active in competition from the walk trot pony rings. to the grand prix arena and all levels in between.

Two sisters on a mission to help elevate the equine athlete. Through a comprehensive idea that the horse works best as a “whole unit”, we collaborate and welcome collaboration in order to get it right FOR the horse.
Show horses can have a better life and perform for a longer period of time when all aspects of care, riding, training and biomechanics are understood. From full rehabilitative work, to mobile bodywork, to show training- we offer a spectrum of tools to support the horse and rider.
We want to establish a “horse-first” approach while also realizing that there are competitive goals involved. How can we as an industry do both- be successful in the show ring and have longevity and happiness in our horses?
Oasis Equine specializes in horses who:
- May not fit well in a traditional show program
-Have limited physical or mental abilities from trauma, falls or accidents or who have been misunderstood
-Show horses who need more physical preventative maintenance.
-off the track race horses of any breed who need to be restarted, retrained, or helped physically.
-young horses who want a good start for both body and mind
Our Mobile Bodywork and physiotherapy work:
Can be integrated at horse shows to settle a horses body and mind and to help alleviate stress
Can be set up monthly with your barn (Sacramento, Bay Area, Reno and Southern Oregon)
Bodywork is included in all programs at our ranch at no extra charge. We feel that a hands on palpation and assessment of every horse is crucial. We offer this weekly to our clients here at Oasis.
SIERRA FINNEY- assistant trainer
Sierra Finney is a young professional hunter/jumper rider with a lifelong passion for horses. Having grown up in the saddle she has participated in both western riding and the eventing community. She has spent the last three years working as a tech in veterinary medicine with a primary focus in emergency and urgent care.
Sierra is also a lovely rider with a relaxed and neutral energy that offers horses a wonderful feeling and keeps them calm during rides. Sierra is a multi-faceted horsewoman and an asset to the Oasis team!
RYAN HATHAWAY-clinician
Ryan Hathaway of H3 Ranch is a wonderful and thoughtful horseman. Ryan helps horses at Oasis through groundwork and roping techniques. Following traditions from the vaquero style and the likes of Buck Brannaman and Tom Dorrance, horses gain knowledge about their bodies and human interaction through patience, guidance and skilled leadership. Ryan also helps our staff and owners learn more with his lessons and clinics. He is a great resource for us to have here at the ranch twice a week.
We love the opportunities he gives our horses and clients. Giving our sport horses and show horses a real education that lasts.
Quinn Vickery- Bodywork Practitioner
Quinn Vickery is our second bodywork practitioner. She has extensive riding and showing experience as well. She has Three certifications for Craniosacral Techniques as well as Osteopathy techniques in vascular manipulation. She also studied microBiology at University of Montana. She has ridden under BTH Equestrians since she was 7 years old and has many accomplishments. Her biggest accomplishment is that horses love her and she has a steady hand and great personality that makes horses shine.
She spent this past summer learning bodywork techniques from Hilary and working with the Oasis team. We are very proud to welcome her as an official member of the team as we grow. She also spent two summers in Germany learning on green horses at Phillip Schulze Sport Horses.
Quinn will be offering field work (we come to you) for bodywork and consultations as well as clinics. Her goal is to eventually be certified to work on people and show the horse and human “mirror effect” in real time.
Lindsay is our wonderful barn manager. She has dedicated many years learning how to be the best she can for her OTTB “Penny”. She is kind, patient and extremely thorough in everything that she does here at the barn. She also is a wonderful riding instructor for the BTH early learners. She keeps a watchful eye over the horses and has a focused, hands-on approach to care.
Lindsay has a en eye for detail and is also extremely compassionate which is a priority for our team. We are very fortunate that a client of BTH has now become a full time employee. It has been our dream for a while to put together a team like the one we have.
